Written by the factory floor — not a marketing department.
I’ll start with something a German client told me last year, because it stuck with me.
He’d bought three pods from us for his Berlin office. A few months later he said: “You know what’s funny? My team fights over the booths now. I had to install a booking app.”
That’s the whole pitch, honestly. Everything else on this page is just details.
So what exactly is a Focus Office Pod?
If you’ve ever tried to take a serious client call in an open-plan office, you already know the problem. Your colleague is on a sales call three desks away. Someone’s heating up fish in the kitchen. And the only “meeting room” is booked solid until Thursday.
A Focus Office Pod is our answer: a fully enclosed, soundproofed booth that drops into your office like a piece of furniture. One person, two people, up to six for meetings. No construction crew, no permits in most places, no waiting. Two people can bolt one together in an afternoon.
We build them in our factory in Foshan, Guangdong, and ship them to the US, Europe, Australia, the Middle East — you name it. More on why buying from Foshan matters later.
The honest version of how we build them
Most websites will tell you their pods have “industry-leading acoustic performance.” That phrase means nothing. So let me just tell you what goes into the walls.
Our standard pod uses double laminated acoustic glass, wall panels filled with 50mm of rock wool, and rubber gasket seals around the door — the same principle as a recording studio door. Tested properly, that setup cuts outside noise by around 30 dB. What does that feel like? A colleague standing outside talking at normal volume sounds like a distant murmur. A printer next to the pod is basically gone.
Is it silent? No. I won’t lie to you — no booth at this price point is truly silent, and anyone claiming “complete silence” is overselling. But it’s quiet enough that nobody inside can hear your sales call, and you can record a podcast in one (a customer in Melbourne actually does this).
The other thing that matters more than people expect: ventilation. The first cheap pod we ever made, years back, was a greenhouse. Closed box, two people inside, ten minutes — everyone’s sweating. So our current pods run a low-noise fresh air system that swaps the full volume of air every 2–3 minutes, and the fan stays below conversation level. Air conditioning is an option for hot climates, and honestly, if you’re putting pods in Dubai or Texas, don’t skip it.
Lighting is flicker-free neutral white (4000K) — important if people are on video calls all day, because bad lighting makes everyone look like a hostage video. There are power sockets, USB ports, and cable routing built in.
Why buy direct from a Foshan factory?
Quick background for anyone who hasn’t sourced from China before: Foshan is where most of the world’s furniture and prefab building products actually come from. It’s not a coincidence — the supply chain here is so dense that we can get acoustic glass, steel frames, felt panels, and hardware all within an hour’s drive.
What that means for you:
You skip the middlemen. A local distributor in Europe or the US is often reselling a pod very much like ours at two or three times the price. We’re the ones with the welding robots and the acoustic test chamber, so we can sell at factory pricing and still stand behind the product.
You can push us around a little. Since we manufacture in-house, custom orders are normal for us, not a favor. Want your company’s Pantone color? Different glass — frosted or smart-switchable? Your logo printed inside the booth? A desk that adjusts height? Just tell us. Distributors hate these requests; we do them every week.
And one practical point buyers always ask about: we accept single-unit orders. If you want to test one pod before furnishing your whole office, that’s fine. Plenty of our best clients started exactly that way.
Where our pods end up
| Where | What we usually recommend |
|---|---|
| Open-plan offices | Phone booth (1P) or focus pod (1–2P) |
| Co-working spaces | 4-person meeting pod, with occupancy sensors if you bill by usage |
| Home offices | Compact pod for a balcony or backyard |
| Libraries & schools | Study pod with upgraded ventilation |
| Airports, malls, events | Reinforced public-use booth (people are rougher with public furniture — trust us on this) |
Shipping, assembly, and the questions everyone asks
How long until it’s in my office? Production runs about 15–25 days. Sea freight from here to the US West Coast or Northern Europe adds roughly 25–35 days. We handle all export paperwork on our side; you (or your freight forwarder) handle import clearance.
Is assembly a nightmare? No, and we made sure of it after watching customers struggle with early versions. Panels arrive numbered, the electrics come pre-wired as modules, and there’s a step-by-step video. Two people, a single booth, about two hours. One customer in Amsterdam did it with one person and a lot of coffee, but I don’t recommend it.
Certifications? We can provide acoustic test reports (based on ISO 354 / ISO 717-1), CE-marked components, and ETL/UL-certified electrical options for North America. Ask for the reports before you buy from anyone, including us — it’s the only way to compare pods fairly.
What about quality control? Every pod is inspected before it leaves the factory, and we send photos of your actual unit before it’s crated — not stock photos from the catalog.
A bit of honest advice before you buy any pod
Whichever supplier you choose — us or someone else — check three things. Ask for a real acoustic test report, not a marketing number. Ask what the warranty covers and for how long (ours is 3 years on structure and electrics). And ask how replacement parts work: if a door gasket wears out in year two, can you get one shipped?
Pods are a 5-to-10-year purchase. Buy the one that still has support in year five.
Want a quote?
Send us your floor plan or even a rough sketch, tell us how many people need privacy, and we’ll come back with a recommendation, pricing, and the acoustic test reports — usually within 24 hours.
